How to Play AllStars IQ

Everything you need to know — from your first game to reaching AllStar tier. Tap any section to expand it.

🚀

When you first open AllStars IQ, you'll pick your favourite team and take a quick Football DNA assessment — 10 questions that measure your football knowledge across five areas. Don't stress about getting them all right. This just sets your starting point.

After that, you'll get a free starter pack with 3 collectible cards and your first Daily Puzzle will be ready.

Tip: Your first 3 games are made a bit easier so you can find your feet. A free hint is available on your very first puzzle too.

A short guided walkthrough will point you to the Daily Puzzle, a Quick Quiz, and your first pack opening. After that, you're free to explore at your own pace.

🧠

Your Football IQ is a dynamic rating from 0 to 200 that reflects your overall football knowledge. It's made up of 5 sub-scores:

CategoryWeightWhat raises it
Tactical25%Solving puzzles (positioning, pass sequences)
Historical20%Quiz battles, player career puzzles
Predictive25%Making match predictions
Analytical15%Pattern recognition puzzles
Speed15%Answering quiz questions quickly

As your IQ grows, you climb through 9 title tiers:

Rookie 0-30 Rising Star 31-50 Enthusiast 51-70 Tactician 71-90 Expert 91-110 Mastermind 111-130 Genius 131-150 Legend 151-175 AllStar 176-200
Good to know: Your IQ uses a smart rating system. Recent results count more than old ones, so your score always reflects your current level. Play different game types for the best results — variety gives you a bonus.

Reaching certain IQ milestones unlocks exclusive cards. For example, hitting IQ 50 earns you an Uncommon card, and reaching the ultimate AllStar tier at 200 awards a rare Mythic card.

🏟️

The Arena is where you test your football knowledge and grow your IQ. There are several game types:

Daily Puzzle — A new tactical challenge every day. You might need to figure out the right player position, spot a pattern in a play sequence, find the next pass in a build-up, or arrange a player's career moves in order. Completing it earns 50 XP and builds your puzzle streak.

Quiz Battle — 10 knowledge questions adapted to your level. Win to earn 75 XP. Speed matters — faster correct answers boost your Speed IQ. Go 10/10 for a chance at an Epic card.

Featured Question — A quick tactical question on the Arena home screen. Get it right for 15 Stars, or earn 5 Stars even if you're wrong.

Predictions — Predict real match outcomes before kick-off. Types range from simple (who wins?) to hard (exact score). Every correct prediction earns +10 Oracle XP and 50 Season XP.

Streak rewards: Hit a 7-day puzzle streak for a Rare card. Reach 30 days for a Legendary. For predictions, a 3-correct streak earns an Uncommon card, 7 gets you a Rare, and nailing an exact score earns an Epic.

Stars are the primary currency in AllStars IQ. You earn them by playing games and completing quests, then spend them on card packs and other activities.

Every card in AllStars IQ is AI-generated with unique art. Cards come in 7 rarity tiers, each with a limited print run:

Rare10%/10,000

Print runs are real limits — once all 500 copies of a Legendary edition exist, no more can be minted. Your serial number (like #234/500) is permanent proof of scarcity.

Pity system: Bad luck protection is built in. If you haven't pulled a card of a certain rarity in a while, you're guaranteed one:

Rare+10 packs without one
Epic+25 packs without one
Legendary+60 packs without one

Duplicate cards are automatically converted to Stars. The rarer the duplicate, the more Stars you receive (from 10 for Common up to 5,000 for Mythic).

Card types: There are 10 card types — Player, Moment, Art, Achievement, Tactical, Stadium, Manager, Rivalry, Signature, and Prediction. Some are earned from specific milestones, while others drop from packs.
🎯

Some cards come with activatable bonuses that give you an edge during games. Higher rarity cards get better and more bonuses:

XP sources: Puzzle = 50 XP, Quiz win = 75 XP, Prediction = 50 XP, Quest = 100 XP, Card collected = 10 XP, Share = 25 XP, Tournament match = 100 XP.

Modifiers are bonus multipliers that activate on specific days:

The Weekly Focus modifier is personalized — it automatically targets whichever of your 5 sub-IQ scores is lowest, helping you improve where you need it most.

Intel is gathered by swiping through the home feed. The more quality content you engage with, the more Intel you accumulate, which gives you small buffs in Arena games like puzzle and quiz multipliers.

Getting Started
What is Football IQ and how is it calculated?

Football IQ is your overall rating from 0 to 200, combining 5 sub-scores: Tactical (25%), Historical (20%), Predictive (25%), Analytical (15%), and Speed (15%). Each sub-score is calculated using an Elo-based system similar to chess ratings — you gain more from beating harder challenges and less from easy ones.

Recent results count more than older ones, so your IQ always reflects your current form. The system also rewards variety — playing different game types in the same day gives a bonus multiplier.

Why does my Football IQ go down sometimes?

Your IQ can dip for a few reasons: getting wrong answers on challenges rated below your current level, not playing for a while (older results gradually count less), or focusing too heavily on just one game type. The system values well-rounded, consistent performance.

Don't worry — a few bad results won't tank your score. The Elo system smooths things out over time.

Is the first assessment important? What if I rush through it?

The assessment sets your starting IQ, but it's not permanent. Your IQ will quickly adjust based on how you actually play. If you rush through and score low, you'll just get easier initial challenges that gradually ramp up. If you ace it, you'll face tougher content right away.

Either way, after a handful of games your IQ will reflect your real level.

Stars & Currency
Can I buy Stars with real money?

Currently, Stars are earned entirely through gameplay — completing quests, winning PvP, opening packs, and more. There are no in-app purchases for Stars at this time. Everyone earns their collection through skill and dedication.

What happens when I get a duplicate card?

Duplicates are automatically converted to Stars. The amount depends on the rarity: Common = 10, Uncommon = 25, Rare = 100, Epic = 300, Legendary = 1,000, Mythic = 5,000 Stars. So pulling a duplicate Legendary is actually a nice payday.

What is Card Essence? How is it different from Stars?

Stars are for buying packs and wagering. Card Essence is specifically for upgrading card frames. You earn Essence by sacrificing cards you don't want — the rarer the card, the more Essence. Then spend Essence to upgrade a card's visual frame through 6 levels, up to the premium Holographic look.

Think of Stars as your spending money and Essence as your crafting material.

Cards & Collection
What does "print run" mean?

A print run is the maximum number of copies that can ever exist for a card at a given rarity. For example, Legendary cards are limited to 500 copies. Your serial number (#234/500) is real — once all 500 are minted, no more Legendary copies of that specific card can be created. This makes higher rarities genuinely scarce over time.

What is the pity system?

The pity system is bad luck protection. If you open many packs without pulling a Rare, Epic, or Legendary, the system guarantees you one. The thresholds are: Rare after 10 packs, Epic after 25 packs, and Legendary after 60 packs without one. You can check your pity progress in the Pack Store.

Can I lose cards I've collected?

You can only lose cards in two ways: trading them to another player (which you must accept), or sacrificing them for Card Essence (which you manually choose). Cards are never taken away by the system. Pinned cards and 1-of-1 Unique cards can't be traded or sacrificed at all.

What are frame upgrades?

Each card has a visual frame that can be upgraded using Card Essence. The path goes: Standard → Prizm → Mosaic → Optic → Gold → Chrome → Holographic. Higher rarity cards start with better frames (e.g., Legendary cards start at Gold), so you only need to upgrade from there. It's a cosmetic prestige system — a fully Holographic card is a real flex.

Arena & Games
How many puzzles can I play per day?

There's one featured Daily Puzzle each day. You can unlock additional puzzles for 50 Stars each. However, keep in mind that diminishing returns kick in — after 5 puzzles per day, IQ gains start reducing. The system rewards consistent daily play over marathon sessions.

What are the different puzzle types?

There are 4 types: Tactical Positioning (where should a player be?), Pass Sequence (find the next pass in a build-up), Pattern Recognition (spot the pattern in play sequences), and Player Career (arrange career moves in chronological order). Each daily puzzle randomly selects from these types.

Why do I sometimes face harder questions?

The quiz system adapts to your skill level using Elo ratings. As you answer correctly, your rating goes up and you face tougher questions. About 60% of questions are targeted at your current level, 20% are a bit easier, and 20% are a bit harder. This keeps games challenging but fair.

PvP & Social
What happens if my opponent disconnects in Live PvP?

If your opponent disconnects, you'll be notified. The system gives them a brief window to reconnect. If they don't return, the match is forfeited in your favour and you receive the win rewards.

Can I challenge a specific friend to PvP?

Yes. You can search for players and send direct challenge invites with your preferred category and wager amount. You can also use matchmaking to find a random opponent. There's a limit of 10 invites per day to prevent spam.

Why can't I trade yet? I just made my account.

New accounts have a 7-day trading cooldown. This is to prevent abuse and protect the trading economy. After 7 days, you'll be able to trade up to 10 times per day.

Predictions & Oracle
When do predictions settle?

Predictions are automatically settled after the real match finishes. The system checks results every 15 minutes. Your Oracle XP, Season XP, and any card rewards are credited once the match is settled.

How do prediction streaks work?

Your prediction streak counts consecutive correct predictions. At 3 correct in a row, you earn bonus Oracle XP (+50) and an Uncommon card. At 7, you get +150 XP and a Rare card. Nailing an exact score at any point earns +100 bonus XP and an Epic card. One wrong prediction resets your streak.

Season Pass & Progression
How long is a season?

Each season lasts 30 days with 100 tiers. You need 100 XP per tier, so 10,000 XP total to max out. At a comfortable pace of ~333 XP/day you'll complete it — but active players earning ~1,000 XP/day can finish in about 10 days.

Do I lose progress if I miss a day?

Your Season Pass XP is cumulative — missing a day doesn't reset your progress. You can catch up by playing more on other days. Your daily quests do reset each day though, so claiming them regularly is the most efficient way to progress.

Your Football IQ may gradually shift if you don't play for a while, since the system values recent results. But it won't drop dramatically overnight.

Fair Play
Can I grind one game type to max my IQ?

Not effectively. The system has diminishing returns — after 5 games of the same type per day, your IQ gains start decreasing (85% → 70% → 55%). Plus, higher IQ tiers require game type diversity: above IQ 120 you need 2+ types, above 150 you need all 3, and above 175 you need 5+ games of each type within a 21-day window.

The message is clear: variety is rewarded. A well-rounded player climbs faster than a one-trick specialist.

Does the game detect cheating?

Yes. The system monitors for several patterns: answering faster than humanly possible (under 350ms), clicking the same answer position repeatedly (pattern detection), and always betting on the same prediction outcome. These behaviours trigger IQ penalties ranging from 0.5x to 0.85x on affected scores.
